Here’s a clue on the next big feature! :)

Here is a video showing it working on a map with max fog density:

And here is a video with the fog set to minimum density. This video shows off the fog animations (you will need to look carefully as they are subtle):

Remember, it’s still early days, and “Mum’s” the word!

  1. Looking forward to this. I play a lot of 4 Against Darkness where you randomly determine the dungeon, and the tools that Sojour comes with are only adequate at best. Very exciting!

      1. RobP, will this make roll & write RPGs easier (games like 4 Against Darkness)? In those games, there are very few existing maps, you usually generate them via tables and dice rolls as you go along.

      2. Alas not. It’s primary focus is to introduce some mystery to pre-published scenario maps. I do have an investigation under way to look at random map creation as this is something I have done in some of my other projects. I’m considering a tile based approach for this. The other issue becomes populating them with meaningful encounters.

I’m pretty sure this kind of functionality will eventually make it into Sojour, but it won’t be in the near future as there are other higher priority enhancements which will need to go in first.
